Default "Hotels By The Sea"...

...about six or seven weeks ago, while I was away, playing a weekend residency in a seaside hotel, I wrote a new song called, appropriately enough, "Hotels By The Sea".

Much of my musical apprenticeship, after I escaped from doing gigs in the seedy backroom bars of my youth, was spent playing in seaside hotels, often many times a week - and in most cases, having a lot of fun doing it. So, looking back on those days, I thought they deserved a song.

This is still a work-in-progress, but here is the current version...

A very nice composition!

I was wondering which parts are still a work in progress? Or is the whole song still under construction?

Thank you, bickb.

Well, when I first wrote it, there was no bridge section in the middle of the song, so I've only just added that part, ("...the run-down Royal Majestic... etc.").

The last line has changed a couple of times too.

If and when I eventually record it properly, I expect there'll be a bit more variety in instrumentation, rather than just having a few strummed guitars, but we'll see. I'll sing it for a while, when chance allows and maybe other ideas might suggest themselves to me along the way.

Thanks again...
