Default I have what I want and need, yet I want what I don't even need!

Gosh, just cruzing the classifieds and see so many guitars I really have no need for but....man it's hard not to make an offer!

I don't have a maple...and there is a stunning 610. I don't need it, but I want it!
There is a beautiful walnut....I don't need it, but I want it!

Is there a non gas pill we can take??????

Take two doses of Beano and stay away from the classifieds.

It is natural to have "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence" desires, Horse. But just like at an animal shelter, you cannot realistically adopt them all.

I'm going through the same thing...but I have just decided that until I reach the next level of skill, I can't get anymore toys. The next level for me is a ways off... This will help me focus on what's really important: my skill.. and also provide a reward if I can manage to improve .

I keep bouncing from 4 guitars to 5, then back down to 4 again. I just can't feel comfortable with 5.

And I have no GAS right now, but I kind of want a travel silent guitar for practicing anywhere and I'd love an X7 for playing anywhere and I should relaly get a crossover so I can get used to nylon strings over the next decades so I can play a soft string guitar when I'm much older and I want another Mart because I lvoe the company and....and....and....

You got that right, brother.

Been some years since I had much leisure cash, so I can't satisfy GAS with impulse buys.

I had GAS much worse when I was playing electrics and bass. So many gadgets. New amp designs, endless effects pedals, pickup swaps, new magic cables on the market...wanted both Fender single coil goodness and Gibson humbucker fatness...a hollowbody rockabilly machine...hey, I gotta slap a Bigsby on there... oh I want a fretless bass in the stable again, etc., etc. It was neverending.

Going all-acoustic has been very liberating.

I still suffer GAS-- I dream of having vintage Gibson acoustics again, I long for a Lowden, wish I had a little slot head parlor, and so on.

But I don't have spendy cash and the GAS passes (no pun intended.)

I just go back to trying to get better and learn more working with the simple, cheap tools I do have and feel fortunate to have them.

Back when I owned 10 guitars and a dozen basses I learned that having multiple instruments never made me a better musician.

Best not to "cruise" the classifieds?
