Default GHS True Lights?

GHS has some of their strings labeled as True Lights, being a .12~.50 guage. Anyone know what's up with the term "true lights"? Is this some retro thing, or perhaps just another guage to add to the already many others?...

Their "True Mediums" are essentially a Light set with the 1st, 2nd, and 6th strings from a Medium set...some like them for alternate tunings, note the beefed up strings are the ones you detune to get into DADGAD.

I can only speculate their "True Lights" follow the same logic in a lighter gauged set...I wouldn't read anything into the word "True" beyond being a marketing term.

Probably more significant from the point of view of standard tuning is the fact that the 1st, 2nd, and 6th strings of a typical set of strings have less tension in standard tuning than the 3rd, 4th, and 5th strings. By making the former strings "mediums", they produce a set that more evenly spreads out the tension among all the strings.
