Hello,
Feels great to be a new addition to this community. I am a freestyle acoustic guitar player mostly into fingerpicking and percussive stuff. I am looking to buy a new acoustic guitar for myself under $800 . Please suggest me some good guitars. Currently i have shortlisted some - Breedlove pursuit concert mh seagull s6 etc tonewood - both mahogany and rosewood will do type - both acoustic/ electric and pure acoustic will do -cutaway, dreadnought , concert size |

Might I recommend a Larrivee L-03. Good all around guitar, can do most any style of playing.....Nice used one should come under budget.

Eastman!
I once tried their E10P and E20P and I was floored with the incredible price/quality ratio. If you find one used, you get a great bargain.

I wouldn't bother with an inexpensive Breedlove or Epiphone after trying the Yamahas and Eastmans. |

Another vote for the Larrivee L-03. Swiss Army Knife of guitars!

Guild has the D-120 and others that are all solid wood and under budget.

Another vote for the Larrivee L O3 as well as Eastman E 6 or E 10.
If you need a little string more spacing, go with the Larrivee'

Second that! I've had a couple of Eastmans (still had one, sold the other only 'cause the two were redundant). I think they're ahead in quality of anything else coming from the Pacific Rim, and better than, or on a par with, anything else you could buy in terms of value, dollar for dollar. (YMMV!)

The New Hartford made F-30 stds. also have the 1 3/4 nut. Might be able to find one used with a little cosmetic wear and tear for $800. |

Be sure to check out the Seagull SWS, all solid woods made in North America. I've also been impressed with the solid wood Yamahas LL16 or LS16.

Blueridge makes some nice guitars in that price range. I can heartily recommend the BR-163 (OM, spruce over rosewood, long scale).
The Epiphone Masterbilt series is somewhat hit-or-miss based on reports I have read, but the one I have is very nice (dread, spruce over hog, long scale with cutaway and electronics). The Yamaha L series (LS=OM, LL=dread, and LJ=mini jumbo) is highly regarded. You have a wealth of possibilities. Enjoy the hunt!

There are a zillion guitars in your price range to choose from, so there will be no end to great suggestions in this thread. I'll throw in Epiphone - I currently use one, a $399 EJ-200 (I play it in the "Garage" videos in my sig below ↓↓↓↓↓↓) Do you have a GC or SamAsh in your area? It might be an idea to go for an afternoon and try try try and see which guitar wins your heart. |
