Default Nicest guitar that you recently played that wasn't yours.

Passing through Spearfish SD I happened on a tiny guitar shop, where I needed a dampit - 103 degrees and real dry! The owner of the store had a '47 J-45 hanging on the wall, begging to be played! My goodness, it sounded like a dream!

Wayne Henderson's favorite go-to dread. Go to an small, intimate Wayne Henderson concert, and he's inclined to pass around his guits to audience members at intermission. Honest!

I still dream about the Martin SS-0041-15 I got to audition at GC a year ago.

Love the 00! This one has Guatemalan back and sides, red spruce top, 1/4" red spruce braces, short scale, mod v neck, 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" at the bridge, hide glue construction, beautiful tree of life inlay on the board, alternate torch inlay on the headstock, all wrapped in an elegant cinnamon teardrop burst.

Sounds as good as it looks!!

If I had $8000 in my pocket, it would have been mine.

I don't get to music/guitar stores very often but I did get a chance to try a mahogany medium jumbo made by Australian luthier Gerard Gilet some time back that was superb.

Martin D35. Then, about 10 minutes later, it became mine.

Default Pre-war Martin

The 1937 Martin D-18 that forum member superb23 had for a while was a true pre-war marvel. Best dread I've ever played.

It was at least 25 years ago at a local folk club. This guy had brought along a guitar made by a luthier from somewhere in Derbyshire. I never asked the name or if I did I forgot. The guitar did play like butter. At the time even considering buying a guitar of such quality was way, way beyond my means, but it was a lovely experience to play it for a few minutes.
