Default Strobs

Hi guys/and gals. First, let me say thank you for allowing me into this forum. Unfortunately, I will most likely ask more question than I give out information.

I am an “old” rock-n-roller (I am at “level 71”) that's been away from music for a long time and when coming back, have switched to country music. I consider myself a song writer and singer with emphases more on the writing aspect. So, this question may seem a bit silly to most of you.

My “ear” has never been that good so I have heavily relied on a chromatic tuner (acoustic only right now) but I have been fascinated by the, new to me, “clip on” Peterson strobe tuners.

Peterson makes two that I have been looking at and it may simply be that one is the upgrade over the other, I don’t know, But which, in your opinions, are the better or at least the latest, the HD Strobe clip on or the SC-1? The HD seems to have more bells and whistles but my attraction is the HD display that is claimed to be easier to read. I can get either one for the same price.

Your opinions would be appreciated.

I have both the original Stroboclip & the new HD version.

The new one is a MAJOR improvement in reading the display over the original (which you get used to anyway).

The BEST clip on tuner, IMHO...

And welcome to the forum!

I have heard this many times from other discussions about these tuners.

And again, welcome to the forum!

Same here and I agree the new HD version is much easier to dial in than the original clip-on version. I consider the new HD to be a major improvement & it is an outstanding tuner IMO. I never got used to the jumpy behavior of the "original" clip-on display and stopped using it. I still prefer the TC PolyTune Clip-on tuner as my everyday favorite. But the Peterson HD is easy to love and if you want the Stobe, it's a great choice with a lot of options/flexibility.

Welcome to AGF!

I have the Strobo-Clip and its an incredible tuner. I don't find it hard to use at all, as some do. The newer version I'm not very familiar with but if it is made by Peterson, it's a quality device.

I also have a Strobo-Stomp ion my pedal board and it's great as well.

You can't go wrong with Peterson.
