Sight Reading Trainer App
Does anyone know of an app for the Mac or iPad that will flash up a note on a staff, listen on the microphone, and then acknowledge when you have played the correct note?
I can read a staff, and I know where they notes are on the neck, but I need to train my brain to connect them together. Thank you, Scott |

Have you searched the App Store for this?
I put in the keywords "music note sight reading trainer" and got a bunch of results. I can't know which would best suit your needs but hopefully you will find something. Good luck!

Tiny, I think you just need to sightread more. You will get better. Try learning to memorize all the notes on frets 1-4 ,5-8, 9-12. Hope that helps.

If you can read the staff and find said note on the guitar neck, why not get a piece of sheet music and a chromatic tuner and then you can be your OWN APP!

There is ScoreCloud - you might want to check the reviews on that one.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have been using a computer flash card and my chromatic tuner. It works, but it is slow. It just seems that someone would meld these two ideas (flash card and tuner) together in one app. But I have not found on in the App Store. Lots of notation trainers, but none that check your response on an actual instrument. Thanks, Scott |
