Here's a quick photo of the RainSong with it's new C.F. pickguard. I'll make a truss rod cover in C.F. when I change the strings.

Wow, that looks great. Would love to have one on my gloss finish shorty.

Well, I tried one of the clear cling ones on my Shorty this morning and didn't care for the look at all - the underlying CF is plain enough that the PG really sticks out visually, and not in a good way. It's no fault of the PG, it would be fine on a weave or on wood.

I'm probably going to order the same in black and try again.

That's interesting clear seems to disappear on my weave and BlackIce?

I use my banjo, although it's pretty heavy. I plan on a more conventional one soon.

I know this is like 10 years old... But did you need a specific kind of adhesive for the pickguard to stick to the Fine Texture matte finish on your RainSong?

Default Clear electrostatic?

I have one on my Taylor wood GC. It is essentially invisible, and can be peeled off in a moment for cleaning, etc. Initially I had worried that over time it would cause that area of the spruce top to "age" differently, but each year I pull it off and can see no difference in the color of the top.

Have had a few Martins, Taylors, and other wood guitars. They all sounded better when played by others...
