Default Norlin-era Gibson pickguard cracks

The other day I played a late 70's/early 80's Gibson (I think it was a J-45) in a store. This guitar is in really rough condition but the action was perfect, there was still a lot of saddle, and it sounded great (I didn't know before playing it that it was supposed to suck).

The main things that concerned me were two cracks that run along the pickguard on both sides of the sound hole. I've gathered online that this is very common for these guitars. My question was, given that the neck angle seems to be fine, how major of a repair is this? Aesthetics don't really concern me (the guitar already has other issues in that department) so I wouldn't worry about ugly repairs, but I wouldn't want to buy it and it implode the next day.

Should I run or is this fixable for not too much?
