Do a youtube search.
Basically - make a rectangular frame from 1x4 or 1x6 pine, put in the rockwook sheet (make sure its a tight fit - measure twice before cutting!) The stretch breathable cloth around it, use a staple gun to attach the cloth to the frame in the back. Add eyehooks, 'feet' for floor-standing, or whatever you need to put them in place.

With OC703 or 705, which is stiffer than Roxul, you can just wrap the cloth around the rockwool sheets, but then have to figure out how to mount them.

I'm having a hard time finding Rockwool here locally. I guess I can order it but I have no idea how much I need. Is there a substitute that is carried at Lowe's or HD?

If you have 8 foot ceilings two unframed panels jam into the corner with no mounting at all. And panels leaned against the wall work as room treatment but double as moveable gobos.

For ceiling mounts the lighter weight of unframed panels make them easier to suspend.

When I was searching, neither had any options and other building supply places wanted minimum orders. Try ATS for a reliable place to order rockwool shipped to you - they also have great spec charts showing you the absorption characteristics.

I found an insulation contractor that also sold direct to the public. They had a great price on Roxul rockboard 80. I didn't know about the contractor until I had placed an order thru an Ace Hardware store, but I still got a better price than mail order.

It can be tough to track down nearby commercial insulation contractors/suppliers, but they're out there and they have OC703 and/or similar stuff just waiting for us. Full spectrum hardware stores, even big box stores, don't carry this class of material.

How would Roxul Safe N Sound 16" work? I've read of some people using it with some moderate success. Lowe's carries that in stock.

If not, assuming 4corners with 8ft ceilings, how many bags of Rockwood would I need?

I've read that the Roxul will sag over time.

I did a quick bit of looking around and a seller on Amazon has the best price I could find: a 12 pack of 1x24x48 OC703 for $125.40 shipped. That's enough for 3 2x4 traps if you make them 4 inches thick.

In regard to sagging... This will be a corner trap with the Roxul or Rockwool stacked in triangle shaped pieces. Can you explain about the sagging? Do you mean like in the center?

I don't have first hand experience with the product and I don't know in what configuration others were using it. I'm just passing along what I read others have said. If I had to guess, I'd guess that they're saying the stuff flattens over time. I can't think of how else they'd mean it.
