PA speaker cab as "acoustic treatment"?
I'm working on moving my gear into a larger room at home, and kind of stumbled into this. This room is a little boomy - low G on my larger electric amp shook things. Well, it was anyway.
I moved in my PA mains to get them out of the garage now that winter is on the way, and set them upright in the back corners with the speakers facing the wall. These things are huge, dual 15" cabs that are trapezoidal shaped built from carpet covered MDF. Anyway, just putting them there really knocked down the bass resonance and even some of the ringing flutter echo. I don't know whether they absorb or scatter the offending frequencies, but the room sounds better now.

Whatever works! But I suspect they are diffusing the sound - corners are terrible for bass reflections.
