Highway of Pain (Seldom Scene)
I've always loved this song. My first knowledge of it was by the Seldom Scene. It was later done by Del McCoury, and probably by others as well.

I really liked this! It is lean, and sincere. It has been years since I have listened to the version done by Seldom Scene, but I remember I loved it. So it says a lot that I didn't find your leaner version wanting.
I don't have much in the way of suggestions or things that I would think would be improvements. I think that with some additional practice you get let your voice go a little bit more..it sometimes sounds a bit restrained (mostly in the first few lines of the song...sounded pretty strong at the end, and you have a really fine voice). But my guess is that you have sung it with more abandon on many occasions...just not in a recording. Well done! Keep posting stuff!! Last edited by buddyhu; 04-22-2014 at 03:32 PM.
