Mississippi John Hurt's Back Porch - Shake That Thing!
Once more my imagination at work. I was wondering what it would be like sitting on Mississippi John Hurt's back porch. Thus the crickets and The Mad Cow.
http://soundcloud.com/undefined-peop...ohn-hurts-back The house that he grew up in is used as his museum: Thanks for listening! noman Last edited by noman; 04-21-2014 at 03:25 PM. |

Good catch, Luke!
I have a collection of soundbytes that I use for these projects. If I can't find the right one, then I check the Internet. We all have times on the guitar where we just have a dry spell on ideas. Shake That Thing is known as a "One-Chord-Wonder". I just wanted to illustrate that even MJH can experience that same thing. He was trying to think of variations, but all the distractions kept him looping and he was making no progress. Anyway, I loved this project because it emphasizes what we should all strive for on the guitar... namely, just having fun with it. noman Last edited by noman; 04-25-2014 at 08:31 AM. |

Well done, Noman. MJH is one of my all-time favorites. Do some more of his. I have to admit… I liked the guitar a lot better than the nature noises though.

Hey, Toby!
That was a thematic thing that I did. Most of my songs have my influence whether they want to or not. Would I change it? Nope, it says exactly what I want it to say. noman |
