I record with the iPad Air. I use an Apogee duet or Focusrite iTrack as an interface. Both units allow you to record two inputs simultaneously. I have used Garage Band but now use Auria.
The advantage with the Apogee is it has better converters and better monitor connections. It is quite a bit more expensive than the other unit. Focusrite is coming out with an iTrack Dock that looks to be a great solution to the shortcomings of the Solo. |

I record with my iPad Air using an Apogee Quartet and the Auria audio app. Great quality preamps in the Apogee and Auria can do just about anything you would ever want for processing.

I wanted the apogee one (the new one) but settled for the I rig pro hd, I like the phantom power for my condenser. It's ok but I haven't got to fussing with it too much yet. Check out audiobus if you haven't already.
