I picked up the aura used off of craigslist for around half the price. Very versatile piece of gear. And you are correct, the compressor function rounds out the plugged in sound nicely.

I have had an OM1000 N1 for a few years now and fully endorse what mikealpine says above. It has the LR Baggs Element electrics and sounds wonderful plugged in or acoustic. As the sound is clean, you have a more blank canvas for creating sounds through any gadgetry you plug it into.

I am disappointed to see they have stopped doing the N1 neck though. I thought this to be one of the best features when I bought it.
