simply beautiful, they almost don't look real. Is it common to see them where you live?

Yes, they are very common here.
Here's a shot I took last year.

And thank you everyone for the kind comments.

We get a lot of Sulphur Crested Cockatoo's here as well.
Check out these guys in a tree behind my house.

This guy was on my garage roof checking me out.

Really nice. It seems odd to my US eye that they are Wild. Fascinating. I’ll share these with my birder friends who have visited (and birdied) in Australia.

Hi again Bruce. Apologies mate, I was busy trying to be hilarious and forgot to say what great shots they are.

That really is a beautiful part of the world you live in, Eden indeed.

No apologies - your feather duster bore an uncanny resemblance!

One of your British imports that has flourished here is the Blackbird.
Seems like every garden has them.
At my home this year they nested in a tree by a brook there's a songbird who sings ..... sorry, got carried away there, they nested right near my front door, the chicks left the nest 2 days ago.
Dad Blackbird has a funny left wing but he can fly OK.... and he sings beautifully.

Bruce, if you post a pic you took of a unicorn, I’ll know you’re in heaven.

You’re obviously in heaven on earth. Nice pics!

I'm so jealous you have Cocatoos flying around you.
I love those birds and here they are pet.
A hand fet chick sells in the thousands of dollars.

They can be the most affectionate of parrots.

I don't have one but want one.

There is a human who has a Cockatoo named Mr. Max.
They have a youtube channel called Mr. Max T.V.

It fun to see what Mr. Max is up to today.
He has so much human-like personality, and he and his human have a great relationship.

They've posted over 1200 home made videos.
This one has over 15 million views.

You may think I am kidding but we really do have a large population of wild (feral) parrots living in London !

None near me, yet, they’re a west side thing, so far, they’ve been around for 40 odd years and are thriving.
There is a large flock of them that can be seen daily in a park where my sister walks her dog. (Sunbury on Thames)

They really stand out from the local wildlife, at one glance you can see they are very different, not just the colours, but their build and mannerisms and the fact that they move in a flock.
I don’t think there’s a native bird that perches on one foot and uses the other as a “hand” to eat with.
