Default Cracked heel on oscar schmidt

I picked up an Oscar Schmidt acoustic at a pawn shop for 25 bucks.
Except for a crack in the heel and extremely dirty, it sounds and plays
Well. What would happen if I epoxied the crack?

You should provide pics to help us provide you with best information. "A crack" could be 2mm wide or as thin as a hair, for example.

Epoxy is rarely used in guitar repair though a heal crack is probably a reasonable place to use epoxy if that's all ya had laying around. None the less I'd still use a more traditional glue like Titebond which in the case of tight thin cracks can be diluted up to 10% to penetrate deep into the crack. It is also very easy to clean up, epoxy not so much. CA is also another choice.

In all cases crack repairs need to be clamped in place till the glue dries.

Default Oscar Schmidt

Thanks for the input. I did decide to use titebond and it is clamped and drying
as I am writing this. I just couldn't pass this gem up. It definitely sounds and plays amazing. I just hope the heel crack stays glued

IT probably will stay glued, typically these are easy fixes. But for $25 bucks you can't go wrong
