I have Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9, not professional, which is hundreds more. To me it is like ProTools LE versus the pro HW product, unless you are really doing real professional work both to me are overkill. There is nothing I want to do but can't in ProTools LE and the same with Sony Vegas Platinum.

I am not making movies I am posting YouTubes, but it is loaded with transitions and special effects I just haven't learned yet, not evey close, but I know it has more power than I will need when I do learn the software.

So, yes I think Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 is a great product...that I need to learn better!

I use Sony SoundForge software for mastering. Great software IMO!
Don't remember if it has video capability, maybe... maybe not.
