since the covering is blonde i would guess that it had sat around for a while due to the rest of it is 65. blonde would have only been around until early 64.

the bassman amps and showman amp have been in a storage area inside of my garage for quite a while. someone else mentioned back problems from lifting them and yes, i have had a bad back for about 11 years now, so, i borrowed my 21 yr. old nephew to help me drag them into the house. i still had to take the chassis out to work on them, which was a chore, but it was so satisfying to complete the tasks.

You ever think about expanding on the collection? For example, add bassman amps from other years as well?

ha! dru: the next time i can get my nephew over, i'll have him drag the bassman amps, cabinet and showman amp back to my garage storage area since they are now ready to be sold. then, i'll have him bring in a 66 gibson apollo 95rvt, 76 orange or80(converted to or120) , 67 fender super reverb, 67 fender pro reverb and 64 blonde bassman and cab for review and possible repair. i should have begun this project 10 years ago when i had all of my vision and my hands were steadier. i'm getting all of my amps up to speed as i am eventually going to be selling them to help fund whatever malady catches me in the coming years--my healthcare fund.

here is my amp chronology list:

WOW!!! What a fantastic list.

The amps you're selling, are you selling them via multiple means, i.e. Guitar Forums, Craigslist, sell at a guitar store, etc?

dru: that's the hard part. figuring out the best way to sell them. i've noticed that due to their fragile nature, a lot of them are not being shipped, so that would rule out ebay and guitar fora unless those people are local and pick them up.

craigslist is sort of scary since someone could come in to buy the amp, pull out a gun, take the amp and rob me of my money. people have suggested taking the amp to a local guitar store, but consignment percentage is real high. others have recommended the local police station, but i'm sure they don't want to hear a bassman and cabinet on 10 in their station. ha!

anyone have any recommendations?

thanks for asking dru. i've been trying to figure this out.

You can sell on Ebay as "buyer collects". Might work if you're anywhere within driving distance of a big population centre like LA.
