Default Let It Ride ..

So Im back in snowy Prague after Xmas in Australia, and tonite is the first gig of 2017.

Started rehearsing and decided to add a couple tracks to the set list to kick off the year, including this one.

Now, as much as I love the acoustic version of Let It Ride I will be playing this track with a cajon player and a pianist, so I decided to go for the electric version Ryan Adams does with The Cardinals.

Straight recording, no ehancements or effects.

what do you reckon, do you like my tan ?

cheers,
GB

Cool song Mark, love RA stuff...the J-150 sounds great, has it's own tone & I like it. This is a good choice for you vocally, in your range. Keep timing of vox & flow of guitar with a nice rolling chug because it's easy to speed up on this. Sounds good bro & have a great show tonite!

Nice job! My duo covers that also and it's always interesting to see how other people treat covers we do.

Sounds good, BG.

The only Let it Ride I know was done a long time ago by the Bachman Turner Overdrive. They could crank it out. I like this one, too.

BTW nice wall of guitars behind you!

Thanks Eric. Youre right about the pace, it creeps up with you on the chorus. But this is one of a number of things i still need to get fully right with this song. I normally post sons here which are works in progress, which some people forget sometimes.

It stil needs about 20 run throughs before its fully right as there are still elements to work on around phrasing, timing, more diaphram and hitting some notes.

Yes, its a beauty isnt it. Its my main gigging guitar but also records real well. Has ability to be soft and gentle and also like a pitbull in one.

This is an interesting song to cover, as there are the two distinct versions that Ryan Adams does. The electric which this is closer to, and the sublime acoustic version. So many options how to look at it, and make it your own.

Good to introduce you to some new music. Take a listen to the acoustic version of this song that Ryan Adams does, its utterly sublime.

You like the guitars wall, come to Prague and we'll have a jamm !

Good job GB. That 150's tone is nicely subtle but it's got some balls behind it.

Man, must be some thermal shock travelling back & forth between Adelaide & northern Europe this time of year, been some scorchers this summer!
