Default Musical notation question

I'm working on Fire and Rain by James Taylor and in the first line of the verse on the last note (an open G) there is a little '4' next to it. Does anybody know what this means? Thanks.

It's referring to the B in the notation. It says "2nd and 3rd times" above, which means he plays the main note (G) 1st time, but 2nd and 3rd times he plays the smaller note, B, on 4th fret instead.

Ah, thanks so much. Didn't notice the '2nd and 3rd times' notation.
