My day always starts with a good cup of coffee pretty much as soon as my feet hit the floor...

But while I'm having that coffee, I don't read, watch anything on TV or computer, or engage in any activity or conversation...

I always say, I like to eeeaassse into consciousness...

I have a Hamilton Beach Brew Station which I love - this is our third one (we burned through the previous two)

On "Book Watch" on PBS TV they were reviewing a book on coffee, jeez, how much can you write about coffee-----it turns out a lot! Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world (After oil) and the coffee freaks can put the wine folks to shame with their country of origin, roasts, grinds (Burrs only, NO blade mills) water temps, about 190 deg F ad infinitum. Then there is brewing--- perculaters (Sucks), cowboy/camp and then French press that pushes the grounds to the bottom, drip, espresso, etc. etc. but in the end, morning coffee is great, some refer to it as the "drug of choice"! I found it hard to believe but some of the best coffee I've had is at--------McDonalds, of all places!

We have a Technivorm Moccamaster that brews a pretty good cup o' joe. Gotta agree though...McD makes pretty good coffee. I'm Canadian where Tim Hortons coffee seems to rule, but I'm not a fan. Give me McDs any day.
