Default Help with playing this Phil Wickham song

Anyone out there able to determine how Phil is playing this. I have played it using standard chords, but it just doesn't sound right.

Even watching him on tis video I can't figure it out. I am thinking he must be in an alternate tuning maybe. I don't know. Any help would be appreciated

Phil Wickham is known for tuning down a half step. Maybe that'll work.

trying to figure out the open tuning is going to be pretty hard. just listened to about 30 seconds. if i had to guess i would say its tuned down a half step - per usual. and then i would say he dropped the Eb to Db so its technically drop D.

Ill never understand why these christian artists hold the cards so close to their chest on how they tune or play their songs.

I'm putting my money (about $0.02 ) on CGCFGC (DADGAD a whole step down). I'm not totally sure about that 3rd string, but his shapes fit the others close enough. Looks like (and in that tuning sounds like) he's fretting 6th and 5th on the same fret for each chord, leaving 4th, 2nd and 1st open, and either muting or fretting that 3rd with index, 1 or 2 frets lower.

Thanks for the replies. I'll play with it a little more tonight. Anyone else have other thoughts please chime in.
