Hi everyone.
I've not been around much lately so I've missed quite alot but hopefully that'll change now.
I like to introduce you to my very first attempt at videoing my own self.
Hope you like it.
Ciao.

Hi Glenn

I really don't understand why it is not visible.
I think it has something to do with this site (or USA?) rules about utube vids but I cannot work out what it is that I should do to "unlock" it.
I live in Italy and here in Europe everyone can see it.
Anyhow... here's the link to it:

The guitar is a Bill Dinsdale (UK) Custom built for me in 1982.
It's a brazilian rosewood back&sides with alpine spruce top.
A few years ago I added a soundport to it which opened up the sound just a little.
You might have noticed the guitar is in dropped D but also a whole semitone below standard tuning.
Strings are D'Addario phosphor bronze 11-52.

Hi Moose,

I posted your video up above. Excellent job -- sounded terrific! Well done!

As a quick tutorial, to get the embedded YouTube link to work on AGF it needs to look like this in the advanced screen:
{YOUTUBE]OA6xDWxZ-aU[/YOUTUBE} I changed the beginning and end brackets so the software wouldn't post up another video and so that you could see the format of what goes between the "" stuff.

You'll note that I have removed: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=" Also, the .... brackets can't be used.

I hope this helps for the future.

I really enjoyed your playing!

- Glenn

Most enjoyable, Moose! The first thing I noticed was your tone, both of the guitar in that tuning and of your playing. Next comes the melody. Despite being new, it sounds very comfortable and relaxed, easy to follow and sing, if there were lyrics. Same thing for your harmonic progression, especially the smooth integration of augmented and diminished chords. After that, I hear the expressive nuances of your playing - those times of slightly holding back, and then pushing ahead and your varied dynamics. Having listened to it three times now as I type this, I also appreciate the pieces form and structure. I'll keep looking, if you like, but so far I haven't been able to find anything about it I don't like!

More, please.

Thanks very nice guitar And no I didn't notice the tuning though I play in open tunings and drops myself maybe I'm used to it lol I think I just don't notice that stuff as I just enjoy the tones and melodies flowing forth

Thank you everyone for the very supportive comments. It gives me the drive I need to do more.
My intention with these vids is to portrait what I play (mess about with, sometimes) when left alone late at night, with everyone else at sleep.
I am lucky to live in a house where I can play at 3 in the morning without disturbing anyone and that is when I mostly get intimate with my playing. Nothing flashy or technical... I am not a virtuoso by a long shot.

And thank you Glenn for posting the vid above and for explaining how to upload utube vids in here.

Just beautiful! Reminded me of a very good soundtrack. Your melody told a story.

Hope to hear more!
