Counterfeit Rode mics
I noticed Rode has a counterfeit mic notice posted at their website.
http://www.rode.com/microphones/nt5 Has anyone else seen this, or is it a weird scam? The alert also came up with a Google search for the Rode site. I did a screen capture, so I know it wasn't my imagination... Since I'm aware that counterfeit versions of much less expensive mics like the Shure 57 are also marketed it makes me wonder how many other mics are purchased with consumers thinking they are working with authentic products... I'd hate to buy a set of KM84s with my hard-earned dollars. Last edited by Rudy4; 04-04-2016 at 12:47 PM. |

Its not a scam. Just a reminder to always purchase from an authorized dealer.
Thats good practice no matter what you're buying, as you have no guarantees from anyone but an authorized dealer. -Mike

It's still up, so no special April Fool's website home page.
Big salmon colored banner at top with "Important information about purchasing from Amazon in the U.S." as a title and and paragraph about them purchasing counterfeit product "Fulfilled by Amazon" from their marketing partners. |
