So those of us who were told to expect a 6-8 week wait when we ordered a CA might be in for a longer wait?.....

Raggamuffin, I was told that due to the recent popularity of the Cargo and their new "i" series, the demand has put them a bit behind. Just what I was told. It is easy for me to say now that I finally have my guitar but...however long takes, don't despair, it will be worth the wait. CA's are incredible guitars. I won't say any more at the risk of sounding too gushy.

Default Anticipation

OK, thanks. I'll try to be patient! Years ago, I saw an interview with Ross Perot where they asked him about being rich and having all this "stuff". He replied by saying something like the anticipation of getting "stuff" is usually more fun than the reality of having the "stuff". I've found that to be true in many cases over the years. Hopefully the reality of the CA will live up to my expectations. But if it takes a bit longer than promised, I'll just try to take Ross' remarks to heart and enjoy the anticipation too!

Jim, that's what my Cargo did to me. So much so, I had to order a 7i. I'd contemplated ordering one for a couple of months and when Cannon posted the pics of his tobacco burst, well, that put me over the top.

Remnant, I believe the only difference is the finish, Road Tough for the 5i and high-gloss for the 7i.

I think the 7i may have better electronics (how much better I'm not really sure). It also comes with a hardshell case.

I called CA customer service and asked if I can buy a hardshell case. They told me that it will cost $240. I think 7i is a ilttle better electronic plus the case and gloss

Jim, both Cannon and myself ordered through Mike at MacNichol Guitars and Mandolins. Great guy, excellent communication.
