How To Split a Long Video into Individual Songs
Ok, so now I have a 1-1/2 hour video file in .MTS format. The audio quality is pretty good, so I just want to split this into individual songs. How do I go about doing this? Never done video editing before.
Also, how do I go about making a 3 minute video composed of maybe 10-15 second clips of different songs out of the full-length video? STeve

Any video software willl let you do this. I use an old Roxio Creator version, but have another cheap one (Corel) that does the same, just doesn't have as many features. I've heard a lot of people say they like Sony Vegas (new version is expensive, though).

The process is like 'cropping' in a photo editor. So for OP's assemblage of shorter segments OP would crop, cut and paste. It may not be called exactly that. But that's what he will be doing. I don't think Vegas is very intuitive. But after fumbling around enough, I can navigate it. For the single songs, Youtube free editor could do that. But it would involve uploading the whole thing several times and then editing it down each time. It would waste a lot of time uploading. But Youtube's editor is easy-to-use.
