Default Guild F-512 Antique Burst *SOLD*

Up for sale is my *Mint Condition* F-512 purchased new in 2013. It has lived in its case in a temp/humidity controlled, smoke and pet free environment. A few of my guitars are played daily...many are in the collector category...this falls into the latter with virtually no play time.

Please don't hesitate to ask questions -no trades please - part of a much needed downsizing.

Thanks very much!

Greg

These West Hartford CT Guild F-512s and F-412s, meticulously made under the deeply experienced and watchful eye of Ren Ferguson, are as close to the Grail for 12ers as you can get. I've never played an early Westerly version, but I've seen some who have played both say they like the West Hartfords as much or more.

I have a natural wood-finished one, and I cannot say enough good things about the tone: the thickest, chimiest, loudest, most balanced I've ever heard. The guitars are also magnificent and inspiring to look at.

I wrote songs in 1980 that have been central to all my music since. Imagine what it was like, in 2014 when I bought my F-512, to REALLY hear these songs for the first time 34 years later as I had ALWAYS heard them ideally in my mind's ear. Just shivers of joy . . . The songs had been waiting all that time.

Someone who loves 12-strings as a totally unique instrument -- kind of like the guitar version of a double-reed woodwind -- should buy this while they can.

Apparently, Guild is making more F-512s and F-412s in their new plant in California I think, but they're slated to be 2+ times the price of this one, and perhaps not quite as good as the West Hartford ones.

Cordoba Guild F-512's scheduled for production late 2017 for delivery early 2018.
Elderly Instruments list them at $3399.99.

Thanks Brucebubs for the correction. I hadn't seen them at Elderly's. Great price for them.

The only place I had seen them was on Reverb for $6,835 Canadian, which with the current exchange rate translates into about $5,050 U.S. plus tax. I figured that would be MSRP and that the street price would be about $4K + tax.

BTW -- I trust you're still loving that great Martin Grand J12-40E Special we exchanged messages about? Unfortunately I still haven't had the opportunity to play one of those yet.

My recent search for a jumbo 12 string brought as much consensus about a recommendation as I've ever seen on AGF. I'm very much enjoying the F-512 that so many here suggested when I asked about jumbo 12ers.

The only way I'd like it more is if it was a sunburst

In an effort to aid the seller here, I'd also like to comment that I love my Guild F512. I had a Guild F212 from 1972, which I also loved, but once I got the F512, I gave the F212 to my grown-up son. I no longer played the F212 anymore.

I have done some YouTube and Show & Tell videos using my F512 if you are interested in hearing the sound of this 12-string with good quality condenser mics. Here is the F512 finger picked: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...ght=Highwayman

Here is the F512 strummed with a flat pick: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...ighlight=Croce

Best of luck on your sale! I would have loved to have purchased a sunburst F512!

- Glenn
