Unhappy Too much bass on Valvetronix VOX AD15VT

I got this used AD15VT and it sounds really nice except the bass part.
Low E has too much bass that completely drowns everything, even with bass knob all the way down.

Is it user issue or the amp?

Have you tried the guitar with another amp and vice versa? What were the results?

Not yet but I'll test it more.
I have other guitars and one more amp to try.
I did notice that in some amp modes, the bass is okay but in others, the bass gets very loud/boomy/whizzy/hissy.

The previous owner may have "saved" a bad sound as the default. Check the manual, available online, and see what you can do about erasing that, and dialing in your own sound as the default.

Good point. I'd forgotten about clearing the pre-sets.

Wrong pickup height could cause too much bass output on an electric guitar.

Presets should only be on when preset light is on.
I tried Manual and Bypass etc... and still too much bass.

That is a possibility.
BTW, on the pickup, there are are flat screw heads.
Can those be turned to reduce level or are they just for looks?

aside from guitar issues, the amp had enormous settings, i got the AD30VT, tell you the truth, my Ibanez with dual humbuckers sounded like total crap in this amp, actually so did a gibson les paul custom, however since then, with strat and tele type guitars the amp sounds great- even with the bass control to full, its like 'booming clear and clean'
