Emerald Chimaera videos
There are very few videos of Emerald Chimaera on youtube putting the guitar through it's paces. A few classical guitarists and tappers. I'm not good enough to play like that. Flint and Mark Black and Flint play more like I can. does anybody have any additional links?

I own a Chimaera in 6/12 configuration. Unfortunately, I have no videos I can share.
Here's one of Al Pettaway playing a 6/6 configuration... Here's one of our own Steve (Doubleneck) playing a really nice song on his first generation 6/12 (hollow necks, no truss rods)... Here's one of Martin Blaines, another occasional AGFer playing uniquely on a 6/6...

There is a couple from when we had a gathering of CF nuts a few years ago, I managed to find them youtube. A few regulars here - Buzzard Whiskey singing and playing Doubleneck's Chimera, EvanB in the hat on his Emerald X10 hybrid, Evan's buddy on the CA OX, Doubleneck on his ipad, PaperKitten at the table, Ray on the Rainsong, and yours truly (TDQ) on the GX playing slide, with Greg (GLNEFF) filming - I hope he doesn't mind me posting. So, not an "official" Chimera video but fond memories.

Yikes, learned that song as a request for a funeral for the sister of a friend. Sent her that Utube to see if she was ok with it. Played it once. These are totally unique guitars moving to the high capoed 12 when the song talked about angels seemed to set the right mood? How else could you do something like that?

Hi GuitarDoc,
Thank you for your post! We must get some more videos made on the Chimaera. Mark will be calling out to us soon, so we will ask him to play a few different styles. Is there anything in particular you would like to see demonstrated on the Chimaera? Best Wishes Sean Last edited by Emerald Guitars; 10-04-2016 at 01:54 AM. |

tdq;
Wow! A blast from the past. A lot of new CF owners might not know about the previous CarbonFests; one at Mystic Springs and one in Park City. Michael, of MacNichol Guitars, helped arrange the fest, Chris booked us for a lodge where we had the whole building to ourselves, and players came from as far away as Spain. We all brought out guitars, Michael brought a bunch of guitars, and we got to interact with the makers via two-way video. the best part was we got to play together. The music went late into the night and started early in the morning. There was even a little of drinking that went on. It was a party. Thanks for bringing that all back tdq. |

Steve;
Yeh, but we saw your doubleneck. I think you had the first one in the US and it was quite a hit at the fest. You flew a long way to our show-and-tell and helped make the event, thank you. |

Great job. How were you plugged in. I detected some compression there?

I went direct in and added some compression in the DAW. I've got a much better sounding setup now though using an AX8. I can never nail those hammer on things he does in a small section of that song |
