My new Pono MT. Everything they are cracked up to be and more. Great build quality, great price, and great sound. Got it Monday and took it camping. First instrument I have ever bought online. HMS is a good outfit, and setup is pro ready. I cheaped out on the case and may regret it. We'll see. Mahogany is quality wood. Really, I played a bunch of the Hawaiian Ks, and their fit and finish are no better than Pono, and some not as good. They were Koa though. But for $1000+ I could not justify buying one. I'd be interested to see what $800 would buy in a Pono. A superb instrument, I'll bet.

K & K pickups ( Aloha Twin) sound good and will sound better when I can figure out how to EQ a uke.

It took me a while to adjust my ears to the difference between my Concert Fluke and the Tenor Pono. Very different. The tenor is much easier to play cleanly. Another Pono fan here.

Also the first AGF pics, so good luck to me with that.

Default Love those Ponos

Welcome to the Pono Uke family. I have one of the older Pono Koa Tenors and love it. They are quality ukes.

Congratulations on the new Pono. Lots of decent ukuleles available these days at all price points. I am glad to see the ukulele becoming more popular here in these forums. The ukulele's seeming simplicity is refreshing, and for whatever reason, it does not seem to carry the intellectual "baggage" the guitar does - you can simply just play it without all the angst about having to learn it "correctly". Ukuleles were intended to be fun, and they are.

I bought my Fluke as an instrument to take with me on our camping junkets. We bought the smallest trailer you can stand up in, and no way a guitar case was going in there. It wasn't long before I was hooked and lusting after a tenor.

I also am not into buying cheaply built instruments, so the Pono is a great price/performance point for me. I've been enjoying it, and look forward to playing it plugged in with a guitar player friend.

I do need to restore my late father in law's soprano. It's a no name, but solid wood.
