Default Dauphin guitars

Does anyone know about Dauphin guitars? A search in Google shows bits and pieces...not much else. I picked up a Dauphin classical guitar at an estate sale. Thanks, Jeff B.

In the 70s and mid to early 80s , a fellow based out of Springfield Illinois
imported classical guitars.. i think his name was Daulphius, or somethink like that
He handled several of the top luthiers , Rodriguez (before he had a factory)
and several american luthiers,, all top dollar...
He started a line of guitars he called Dauphin, imported from , i believe both
spain and Japan,, some very nice midline guitars, others less expensive
student guitars,, all very good quality for the price .
He eventully went out of the guitar import business, but he had a good
Reputation from what i have heard about him.

Default Dauphin Guitars

I am incline to believe that Dauphins are Japanese made guitars. You might be able to find additional information in a cross reference search of guitarists who play Dauphins. There is a classically trained guitarist with an impressive number of fingerstyle compositions. His name is Maasaki Kishibe. Another is protege Kanaho. Both of them play Dauphin Guitars. I once came across a Dauphin site with the models they play, but I was unsuccessful in finding it at this time. The guitars I am referring to are steel string acoustics and not classical. These are two YouTube videos might be of interest to you:
