Default WTB: luthier Dread under 1000$

Hey all, just looking for a handmade dreadnaught. Looking for Rosewood back and sides, Ebony fretboard and bridge and just something straight forward. Let me know what you have or if you know any luthiers that have some extra builds. Merry Christmas!

Baden might be a choice to look into. Most hand made guitars start at the very low end around $2500 and shoot up from there. Won't be many options.

I don't think there are any luthiers which will build you a guitar to your specs for under $1000.

Well, if you lived in Vancouver and got out of the tax and went over to the builder's shop...

Yeah. I totally understand the cost of valued luthiers guitars, but I have seen many starting out luthiers, or just plain used ones for around $1000. Thats why I am asking. @Blaren, Ill have to come check it out next time I fly over to Vancouver.

Maple, not Rosewood, but I'm guessing this one is going meet your price criteria. Well, maybe not once all the Webber fans here get wind of it...

Hi,

I'm not involved in the sale but this one doesn't seem too far.

And don't forget that, with the Halcyons...you get like 6months or so to come up with the thousand bucks..plus case and shipping of course.

I don't think I would even have a Halcyon right now if I had had to come up with the whole thousand bucks at once. I definitely wasnt in the market for a new expensive guitar. I was actually gassing for a PRS SE Angelus for around 700 clams.
I found Ed Bond and actually, the first time I spoke to him I was asking for a freebie...as an endorsement deal. I've been landing quite a few endorsement deals and freebies in the past year.
He said that since he was pretty new that he couldnt do any endorsement deals at this time...BUT...he went on to say that his guitars were only $999 and that he only needed half up front and the rest in 4-6 months. I asked if I could nickel and dime him to death so that I wouldnt even feel the purchase and he said...sure I don't care..as long as I get my money next Friday...oops...singing a George Thorogood tune now...as long as I get paid before it ships I'm good.
Well the bugger fast tracked me (had a cancellation) and it was ready in about 10 weeks. And, he's doing it to me again with this OOO.
I still have $300 to pay on it...thought I still had a few months but now he might have it ready to ship on the 18th...yes..in like 3 DAYS!!
Oh..$300 plus shipping and case so...closer to $400.

Looks like my wife is gonna have a SWEET gift under the tree. She doesnt play so there shouldnt be too much trouble borrowing it from her...right?

Hey...SEASON'S GREETINGS!
