Default Home - a new original

Hello, everyone! For the last six months I've been working on a new album of original material and I started by recycling a little something from my Home Texas album. This song began as the song "Home Texas" and with the help of producer Dor Kelman it went from an acoustic fingerstyle song into this sort of acoustic rock version. I hope you enjoy and thanks for listening.

...and here's the original song:

Nice, JR! Both versions are great but I'm really digging the new one. Looking forward to it on iTunes so I can add it to my collection.

The preview of "Make Things Right" I listened to sounded like a NIN song at first (cool!) and then transitioned to a nice ballad.

Really like both versions of the song JR. The acoustic rock version is a real nice retro/modern mix and excellent production. Two thumbs up!

The original version sounds reminiscent (in a very good way) of what you might have heard somewhere in the soundtrack of the great TV series "Friday Night Lights" from a few years back.

Nice J.R. Love the electric 12 and the chanted parts.

+1...these are my thoughts as well. The new version is very moving in an emotional way, beautiful. However, I really like the original's open space...both heartfelt J.R.

Thanks for posting. J. R.! I also like both versions and it is fun to see how the acoustic version was transformed with the added instrumentation. I always enjoy your playing and the nice relaxed feeling I get listening to your music. It always drops me into a deeper part of myself. I look forward to the album!

Best,
Jayne

Very nicely done, JR! The abrupt ending is unusual and an interesting dynamic choice. I enjoyed listening!

Thank you so much everyone - really appreciate the good words. There's another song on the album - "Starry Night" that also originated on the Home Texas album, and I decided to add some vocals and production to that one as well. Thanks again for listening and for the nice feedback.

Jayne - thank you! That means a lot to me

Bob - really appreciate your feedback as I know you hear all kinds of stuff daily. Thank you.

JR

J.R., you're a soulful rocker -- and a real softie (at least musically speaking)...

I've always been a fan of "power ballads" and this is as good as any of them.

I haven't bought any music in a very long time but will definitely add your album to my collection.

That was great, J.R. As soon as I heard that first note in the new song it took me back to a beautiful woman in my arms.
