Default "Six-Blade Knife"--Dire Straits cover

Recorded this last year and it is about to hit the 1,000 plays mark on Soundcloud. I have always loved this song and think it gives "Sultans of Swing" a run for its money for best song on Dire Straits' first album.

Recorded with my HD-28 and American Standard Strat. I tried to keep things as basic as possible and not overproduce, but couldn't resist a little added shimmer on the choruses. Probably the most fun were vocals and bass. Thanks in advance for listening and I hope it does not offend any die-hard Knopfler fans.

Sombras, I loved it last year too! I actually played this two weeks ago... Your version... For my picking buds to see if we can mimic your version in our set.

Dig it. A great sound done great. Congratulations. I like the depth of your vocals and the groove is rock solid. This also showcases how great Dire Straits is an in particular Mark Knopfler. That first album is genius.

Som-brah dude this is awesome ...love DS & MK in particular, some of the best phrasing ever and you nailed it wonderfully. Ya know if ya listen with earbuds like I do, you can appreciate the signature of the HD-28's depth and growl known quite well among us who love the Martin dread signature. This in particular leaves that space for which the vocals are tucked in the groove so nicely. I really enjoyed this. Great job all-around from 28 to Stratovarius; and from your vox vibe to the recording Q...another from the noledog!

Thank you for noticing the "space" issue, Nole! In my recordings I have had to keep a watchful eye on "overcrowding" the mix with instrumentation. This doesn't leave much room for vocals or even bass. I made a concerted effort to avoid making thing too dense when I recorded this song. I appreciate that your ears picked that up. Thanks!

And thanks much for the other positive comments. I was actually quite distressed when I finished this recording because it sounded so different from my other covers and how I thought it would sound.
