I believe Bob's story, yes, of course.

But the idea of one folkie/alt/whatever shooting a perceived competitor? Odd to me that someone would even consider this to be any sort of plausible scenario.

By the way, I do have a lava lamp in my home studio. My son moved out of the room and I inherited his lamp.

I poured a glass of wine, turn out the lights and just listen to the music. When doing this, I can hear every detail of my music. It's amazing, the lamp works !! I can watch the lamp and make plans for what I'm going to do next...it seems to help with concentration. I should have bought one years ago.

Nice lava lamp. I have one somewhere along with a corner strobe light. Once I reorg my studio I'd like to also hang some blacklights and maybe a vintage fluorescent hippie peace poster or three.

Well between the Lava Lamp and the Yamaha HS8 monitors, I'm able to hear and concentrate on every detail of my recordings, and have spotted a problem with the ADIO Buffer in the Focusrite 18i8 interface. I was getting a click sound every once in a while that ruins my recording...I changed the buffer and now the clicks are gone.

It works !!

i change the buffer depending upon whether i'm in recording or playback. especially if you are using plugins.

the focusrite uses a weird buffer?? i'm using a mac so maybe that is different.

play music!

Yeah, a lava lamp is necessity! I have mine on the same circuit as my audio interface, so both get turned on at same time. My wife has learned that if the lava lamp is on, then I'm recording (not really, but that's what she thinks) so she needs to be quiet.

This is an old picture (monitors and desk have changed substantially, but the lava lamp remains!
