Welcome from the southwest suburbs!

Check out Tobias Music when you have a chance. The train station is 1/2 block away making it very easy to get to from the city. Wide selection of Taylor's and Martins. They also have a small concert venue that is pretty cool.

Thanks! I am going to visit them in a couple of weeks for sure. Some guitar players that I've met while playing at the lake front suggested this particular store also.

They offer a variety of songwriting and music theory classes and workshops:

Lol! They are close enough! Nice meeting you Jon. I just saw your "Over the rainbow" video. You've got a very intimate sound with that Pono. I absolutely love it!

I've been considering setting up a small AGF song circle. I currently run a monthly song circle for our local folk club. Folk music isn't everyone's cup of tea, so perhaps a distinct meeting would be in order?

Joliet for me. I currently am a part of an acoustic guitar meetup in naperville...which can be trying and blue grass jam in naperville saturday mornings which despite that I don't play/listen/like blue grass is a lot of fun.

Oh. Any one of the Steve Dawson classes @ OTS is a hoot. Also Sue Demil does a very nice job, I hear. Haven't taken hers. But I've seen/heard her work in Sons of the Never Wrong for many years. She's great.

I'm in the NW burbs myself. But I get around all over the place.

There's a great core of singer/songwriter/performer types that hang out on the near west burbs around FitzGerald's, and the Friendly Tap, and The Wire.

Let me dig up a video about it.

I'm such a beginner that it's doubtful that I would be able to add anything musically to any kind of circle or group, but I would love to be able to join and have an adult beverage or a coffee and see how these kind of things operate... that would be really cool and a learning experience...as well as obviously meaning of the members of The Forum.

Cheers...

Todd in Chicago

Thank Marshal! I guess I should visit this venues soon. I like local music scene, and Chicago has a lot.
