I think you'll have a tough time trading your SG, the tuners are pretty unpopular. Since you like to swap out parts, for a re-sale, you could easily install manual tuners. I have (2) 2015 Gibsons with the tronical tuners. I hated them at first, now I love them.
Get the J-45 and keep the others too, if you can. SG's are amazing.

You're not buying any Gibson J-45 anything in that range.

See this Reverb ad for a guitar just like yours.

I was thinking the same thing. I think MF blew them out a few months back for around $800.00 or maybe even less.

As for the J-45, have you looked at any other fine acoustics. There are some nice ones in that price range you might find you like better. For that cash, it may pay you to look around, especially if it is going to be your only acoustic.

I'm not here to debate people that don't know what I know to be a fact.

You go ahead and pay $800 plus shipping for the one you just linked here that is broken and won't hold a charge I'll sell mine when/if I decide to and I know what I can get for it.

I'd never had bought that SG with that horrible robo tuners in the 1st place.

I wouldn't have paid ANY money for an SG with robo tuners. So even $800 is $800 too much much less a $1200.

No debate on that fact for sure.

Yeah, it's more of an advanced approach to tunings on the fly. I can definitely see how that could cause problems for you. Lots of reading to cover in the manual.

Those who are capable of learning how to use the system are able to appreciate it's efficiency and take advantage of the doors it can quickly open up for you on stage.

I sold a Les Paul I didn't play that much and ended up buying a J45. Best thing I've ever done.

Anyway, I sold all my electrics except my Copperburst Tele to subsidize new acoustics and haven't looked back. If you really want a J45 and this would speed up the process, go for it. I had four other electrics including an SG and I don't miss any of them. The Tele is a "just-in-case-I need-one electric. Sold my Deluxe Reverb Amp too. Kept my little Vox Pathfinder R for jammin' and stuff.
From my experience and my aquaintances experiences, unless you are in a full-time rockband and/or you need that particular guitar, bid it a fond farewell and join the ranks of many happy acoustic players with great guitars.
Yes they are buying. I saw IMO the least attractive finish, silver, go for $1300 yesterday I think it was.

Yeah I have about 3-5 electrics that I may try and sell and use the funds toward the J45 and a Martin HD28... That'd be a sweet combo to have

I would get the J45. But if I could I figure out how to save the money and keep the SG I would do that first!

Good point - I've been in this game for 55 years, developed a pretty good handle on what sells and what doesn't; bottom line here is that electric players can be just as tradition-minded as acoustic players, they didn't buy this one any more than they bought the Corvus/Victory/N-225/Firebird X (and won't now), you're going to have a heckuva time unloading it (sales pitch notwithstanding, certainly not to anyone here - BTW I've really been getting back to my electric roots over the last few years, and with two Masters degrees I'm far from literature-challenged), and if you're serious about that J-45 you might just wind up taking that $400 in trade that Tex mentioned...

Tell ya what: in the interest of objectivity and fairness, post the link when you decide to sell on eBay/CL, do a NGD review when you get your J-45 - and tell us honestly what you netted in sale/trade; I've found the AGF'ers to be a pretty good - and highly knowledgeable - bunch, who wouldn't steer you wrong. Just to really put everything on the up-and-up, there are a few dealers who would probably be glad to weigh in with a sight-unseen ballpark figure - why not PM some of the folks on the sponsor list and see what they say, especially since a few of them (Ted @ LA Guitars, Maury's Music, et al.) offer special pricing to AGF members...

Yeah, I decided a while back in the thread that if/when I sell it, I will link it here for sure. We just have to agree to disagree on what I have seen them being sold for. Of course not all of them go for the higher price. That's kind of a no-brainer. People see a guitars price it sold for and say, that's what you'll get too. We'll see.
