I have finished the guitar and spent some time taking pictures today. I have a new camera with a nice macro lens so there's going to be a lot of detail shots.

Here is the sound port that is bound in Cocobolo and has the same black wood, maple, black wood purfling that is all around the guitar:

Here is the Cocobolo binding. The top has seven wood purfling lines, two pair of the black, maple, black with a Cocobolo line sandwiched in between:

The rosette has the same seven wood purfling outside border with Cocobolo, mahogany, and spalted Tamarind tile bordered with black ebony:

Here is the Cocobolo bridge with a bone saddle and black ebony pins:

Certainly the star of this guitar is the "Tree Mahogany". I really tried to bring up the red in the mahogany by using lots of Cocobolo like this end graft:

And Cocobolo heel cap:

Here is a shot of the extension on the black ebony fretboard which is bound in Cocobolo as well. You can also see the semi-hemispherical fret end dressing:

Here is a picture of the volute behind the head stock. You can see the center laminate with a cross grained Cocobolo center:

So here is what the whole guitar looks like, front and back:

Now I get to play this one for while before I send it off to my client next week.
This is a very lightly built guitar and I am already very happy with the tone and response, especially the bass response from this relatively small guitar.

Thanks for Following Along!
Mark
What a gorgeous guitar. Do you have a sound clip or Youtube video??

Sorry, I won't have a sound sample on this one. About a month after I ship a guitar I often get e-mails from clients with spruce tops commenting on how much the sound is opening up and increasing in complexity so I don't do recordings of newly finished guitars.

Thanks Matthewpatrick for all of your good words along the way!

Fountainhead, I'll look forward to meeting you in person this fall!

Mark

Any words I can think of seem to pale in the pictures of this piece of artwork. Only one I can think of....breathtaking..
