Speaking of comedians.....
Our daughter loves John Mulaney. We got her tickets to a show (very reasonable) and drove an hour to a packed theater of a few thousand raucous fans.
It was a good clean show - only a little profanity and nothing uncomfortable or cringey. Even his political bit was hysterical and good-natured (and I'm on the opposite side of his opinions, so he was funny without being offensive which is hard in the current climate). After the show our daughter wanted a picture of his tour bus. A small crowd was there to wave him off. He came over and took the time to greet every single person there, shake their hand, thank them for coming and take a picture with them. He took our daughter's phone and took a dozen selfies with her. She is beyond ecstatic. He was just an incredibly classy guy, humble and super gracious. Just a really kind person. A lot of "Hollywood" could learn a lot from a guy like that.

Most of Hollywood started like that.

Proof positive that you don't have to be an obnoxious jerk/self-appointed philosopher/total potty-mouth to get the laughs - one of the reasons I still like the old-timers...

Most comics I know are very, very appreciative of all who come out to see them in person. With the theft of revenue from streaming and on-line availability of free music, comedy.... albums, comedians like many performers make less and less from recordings and more of their income from live performance. Go see someone at a comedy club near you.

I love Stephen Wright, W. Kamau Bell, Alonzo Bodden, Wendy Liebman and Kathleen Madigan. Nothing in the world like a punch line with an unexpected second ending that takes a wild left turn.
