Thomastik-Infeld for steel strings for the clarity and purity of tone, plus feel under the fingers.

Oasis GPX+ because I prefer fluorocarbon on most nylon instruments for the same reasons noted above: clarity, sustain, feel under the fingers which is flexible and responsive.

I'm really enjoying these.

All 6 strings are wound.

+1 on the Oasis GPX!

I used Savarez Red Card for years but started having problems with the wound strings breaking. I looked online to see what strings Jason Vijeaux uses because I have seen him live and love the sound he gets. His website said he uses Galli Genius strings so I bought some and I love them! I've been using them ever since.

My Alhambra was sounding sort of subdued and blah. I considered trading it off for a different brand, the strings were not that old either. Decided to try a different brand first. Put on some normal tension Oasis carbon strings. It came alive. Brighter highs good mids and nice clear bass. Reminded me of why I kept it vs the Taylor I had when I thinned the herd a bit.

I don't play my classical that often. I find LaBella strings to stay in tune pretty well between times.

Sounds like a lot if hard, fiddling work fr the next few weeks!

Depends on which guitar:

For my 630mm Dominelli double top (spruce/cedar top and honduran rosewood back and sides), I alternate between D'Addario hard and extra hard tension pro arte trebles and EXP basses depending on whether I want a stronger or lighter right hand attack. I get a warmth, sustain, and consistency out of these strings that I just haven't found elsewhere.

For my 650mm Traphagen (cedar/indian rosewood), I use luthier medium tension basses, high tension Knobloch G and B string and then a D'Addario pro arte extra hard or hard 1st string. I like crisper basses of luthier on this guitar with nice carbon 2nd and 3rd string with a warmer pro arte nylon first.

For my 13 string balsa core double top Thames Dresden guitar cedar/spruce, Indian Rosewood (tuned from high to low, f-d-a-f-d-a-g-f-e-d-c-b-a at A=415), I use EJ45 pro arte 1st string, EJ 43 2nd string, seager premier flurocarbon leader line for the 3 and 4th strings, then pyramid silver strings for the remaining. I use this setup as it doesn't put too much tension on the bridge and soundboard while sounding both clear and full for tone (carbon 1st and 2nd sounded too nasally).

I never use 1st string carbons. My tone is always just a bit too thin with them.

After trying most every normal-to-low tension string available, I think,
I'm back to the D'Addario J45 full set except for a Knobloch carbon
medium tension third. I can live with the J45s' slight plasticky
coloration, and like their other qualities the best. Cheap too!

Default Augustine

I bought a Cordoba C5 last February that came with Savarez Crystal Corum strings on it and the G string sounded dull. I put some new D'Addario normal tension strings on it and the G sounded a little better, but still more dull than the B and E treble strings. I decided that it was because of the guitar and I just accepted it. I continued to use D'Addarios for about 10 months because so many people on this forum and Classical Guitar Delcamp rave about them. I wanted to try some low tension strings and my local store did not have D'Addario low tension in stock, so I bought some Augustine Black Classic. Not only did the G sound better but the B and E also sounded more like a "real" classical guitar sounds. They still sound just as great about 6 weeks later. I should have trusted Andres Segovia and Albert Augustine sooner.

D'Addario's. Whenever I go off script and try another brand I always come back to one of the EJ45 or EJ46 variants. They just seem like a good steady consistent string.

AGF sponsor 'Strings By Mail' has them - they're not cheap.
https://www.stringsbymail.com/thomas...6-43-5408.html

The history behind them is John Pearse lived in Europe before moving to the USA where he worked for Martin strings before setting up his own string making business.
These Thomastik-Infeld strings hark back to his European days and a project TI and JP worked on together.
