Oud vs a Lute?
Hi,
I'm fascinated by the exotic sound of the Arabic Oud, but I'm a bit concerned about it not having any frets. Will a Lute sound similar? I play guitar, but I really want to add that throaty, brassy sound to my recordings Any suggestions for good $300-$500 Ouds, Lutes welcome Thanks |

Got a used Godin Inuk for $500. Very cool instrument, wide string spacing caused in the Middle East it is played with a pick like pencil. I use a flat pick and hybrid finger pick it. Totally unique

Checked out a Godin Inuk, - no, I'm definitely interested in buying an acoustic instrument only and something that sounds more natural.
Are there any Oud brands that stand out? Best place to buy online? |

Check out Lark in the Morning website and search for ouds or lutes. They have a few listed.
