I can't record through my PC

I got Cakewalk and a USB chord for my guitar and play through a DigiTech processor but can't get any sound except the one minute recorder in accessories, and that's only on the playback. How do I get sound?

What happens when you try to use Cakewalk?

Have you set the input in Cakewalk to the USB cable?

Try downloading Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ and see if it is easier to configure than Cakewalk.
