Default Running on Empty tuning

Just finished working this one out with the help of a few videos and watching Jackson Browne perform it acoustically. Proper tuning seems to be Open G with the low E tuned to C. Watching Browne do the walk-down part shows this to be correct. Great tune.

That's how I play it.

Just noting that the original recording was tuned a whole step up (open A with a low D). I can't (and I guess neither can Mr Browne) hit those notes anymore.

I play a solo on a G harp, though I wish I could pull off Lindley's wicked lap steel part.

I'll always love that tune.

Mike
