I'm in the middle of changing my board. Now that I have a Grace Designs Felix I don't need a preamp/DI and mostly don't need additional EQ. The Felix isn't as good as an Empress ParaEQ in that area but it's good enough.

Don't 'need' anything else but various toys can sometimes inspire new ideas and fun to play with.
Not to allow more detail to come out, but just to keep a check on the few times I may get heavy handed. I generally use no more than 3:1 compression ratios, fast attack, and medium release. The threshold is set high enough where it only comes on when it's needed.

And... that Felix looks sweet!

Pedal board has been the same for a little while now.

PT Junior. w Cioks DC 10

Harmony Singer > Comp > Chorus > Delay > Dittox2 > Pz Deluxe > (TC Noir Mini ) > > mixer...

All effects are set fairly minimal for just a pinch here n there. Lovely and effective setup, but it aint exactly light. Nuthin's poifict.

Try to use as few pedals as possible because IMHO they can mess up the tone. If you really want to use effects, I recommend getting a TC Helicon VoiceLive 3 or VoiceLive 3 Extreme or Play Acoustic. These pedals not only offer useful features for your voice but also good guitar effects AND these are all-in-one systems so you'll trip over fewer cables and pedals.

+1! I've always found that activating an effect usually took something away from the acoustic guitar's amplified tone. Early on, everyone seems to want to buy and use effects because of all the neat noises you can get from them; that is until they realize less is more!

Hi,

I just use one DI with EQ (and a little tube compression), a tuner and a booster. A little bit reverb out of the FOH, thatīs it.

My philosophy is to play acoustic guitar and to amplify it. The booster is a compromise for the band situation.

I agree I use the Voicelive 3 and it's a wonderful tool but I use subtly and I love having the options minus the cables. Is it perfect? no but if someone is inclined that system has a lot to offer. I think some people have a preconceived notion that it's going to sound too canned and the online demos don't help because some of them are over the top.

I don't always want a straight up acoustic sound and I sometimes use delay, reverb, compression, boost and even a little distortion etc.

For me it was more that I was just not using everything I had. Previous to the simplification down to just guitar into amp my signal chain was:

Guitar -> Red-Eye -> Ditto X2 -> Flashback X4 -> amp with the signal splitting off going to feed the TC Harmony G-XT.

Though all those pedals were cool and fun, I rarely used them in practice or performance. I went down to just the Red Eye and the TC Harmony and then we yanked those and found we could get what we needed (minus the harmonies) going straight into the amp.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not some hipster-cool purist that says you're only a real musician if you use nothing but your pure signal. For us it was just about being able to make due with the absolute minimum and with the new AG200 which has a lot of powerful features we were able to do just that.

I would say any decent multi effects box will work. I add a wah, but I do pretty unique stuff.

The beatbuddy mini is a smart addition these days with the optional footswitch. Its nice to have a small portable drummer.

Not 5, but the ones I need. I will add a k & k preamp for eq. I will try to add some pics.

Here are some pics of mine. I will add an eq between the boss looper and the TC Helicon unit.

I also placed my mic stand on the pedalboard to clean up some state clutter. I use the Mackie board to feed powered speakers or house PA. All EQ (vocal and guitar) are at my feet.
