Just open it!! We can't wait any longer. Besides, in the tight Ameritage case over the little time she was in the truck I bet didn't heat up at all...

When mine arrived, I thought to myself, "I'll wait, let it acclimate..." and then I justified opening it after about 10 minutes.

Especially during this time on year (and I received mine in August) you should have no problems with opening the guitar up.

Open the crate!

Talking Elation!!!

Well... I gave the guitar an hour before cracking it open. I kind of lifted the top of the case and peaked in... My first thought: The top is DARK! It is so chocolaty and beautiful in person. The pics don't really show it's beauty!

I scooped it out of the case and... it's light! Being a SJ it's not an overly large guitar and it's a feather weight compared to some other guitars I've owned.

Admittedly I was very apprehensive about the neck. The neck gains the feel of a guitar, and having never touched a Cornerstone before I was nervous. I've purchased guitars before site unseen and within seconds of tuning it up I found that I couldn't bond with the guitar because the feel of the neck was so not me. So I looked over the guitar pretty extensively before even touch the neck-- To my JOY and Surprise... it was/is ME! Peter convinced me to go with the slightly wider Zion neck and spacing and I'm thankful that I did. I told him just now on the phone that I think I actually prefer this neck to what I previously considered my favorite neck dimension... Peter can you build a neck for my Taylor GA??

So I tuned her up to DADGAD and let it rip. Initial impressions are: It's loud, it's voice has nice depth... I was just noodling around and out popped a song. I LOVE the way guitars inspire new music. I haven't quite completed all the lyrics, but I've gotten the first of what I hope to be many songs out of my SJ within 10 minutes of having it out of the case.

I don't think the strings have been on it more than several days so I'm sure it'll settle in more as we go forward. Here's a few pics I snapped just now in the dying sunlight. They aren't the best but I'm sure proud of my new guitar!!

This case is built like a tank...

That's great, Travis. So the top is darker than in your photos here? It is gorgeous. I would love to hear it.

Enjoy that new guitar! You've got a prize.

Travis, beautiful guiitar...but of course it would be - Peter's worik is always immaculate. And with Redwood/Rosewood, how could you go wrong...it'll sound even more amazing as time goes on (of course I'm biased to redwoods, especially paired with rosewoods, but don't hold that against me). Enjoy! Aloha, Hen
