Default AVID MBOX Studio and Pro Tools Studio

Avid is offering its MBox Studio interface (normally $899) and a perpetual license with one year update and support plan for Pro Tools Studio (normally $599) for $599. Sweetwater has it listed.

The MBox Studio is a decent interface for anyone who is looking. I was lucky enough to test out a pre-release unit and we did a review of it for production expert:

That's a decent deal if you only need to preamps

Maybe Avid is trying to placate for bucking the price of the annual PT Ultimate update and support plan $100 starting in May

I looked at some reviews of that interface when it first came out. It looks like quite a bit of bang for the buck.

It has four preamps, two in front and two in back. They are the same preamps as are found in the AVID Carbon.
