Talking Beaumont Rag - Guitar Contest

Proud dad here!

At the Rural Retreat Fiddlers Convention yesterday, my 12 year old son Nick placed 2nd in the Adult Guitar Competition with this tune. 1st Place went to local flatpicking legend Steve Kilby (congrats Steve!).

Thanks! He arranged it himself, too.

I also have to give some props to the sound guy. The wind was really whipping across the stage but Nick was clear as a bell. Might be the best he's ever sounded behind a mic. A good sound man is hard to find...hopefully we run into that guy again.

Thank you. He's been doing these competitions since he was 8, and decided to compete as an adult this year whenever they'd let him. This is the first time he's placed in the adult category so it's pretty special. Well, he placed one other time but he was 4th out of four competitors which isn't quite the same. Thanks for the kind words.
