Question Solo acoustic between 2 loud rock bands-what to do?

What do you do when you have to play an acoustic set for a rowdy crowd between two loud rock bands on New Year's Eve? I opened for a really good Stones cover band, just me and my Martin. I was to play a program of the blues roots of the Rolling Stones.

Normally I would close a Delta Blues set with the Bo Diddley medley I play in this video but on this occasion I figured I'd be better off rocking out straight out of the gate so I opened with my closer. Turned out to be the right thing to do, they were up and dancing right away and I rode that wave the rest of the set.

BO DIDDLEY MEDLEY

Having the skill to read your audience is a sure mark of a pro, Mike! Cool gig, and very well done!
