Default Black Butte Waltz -Eric Skye And Tim Connell

Round two. The second of the three new videos we recently shot in my kitchen. From our June Apple album, this is Tim's lovely "Black Butte Waltz." https://youtu.be/4oF_TMr_42g

As much as I love your CD, these videos are even more delightful...perhaps because of the relaxed setting, perhaps because of the ongoing development and revelation of the songs. But I don't want to think too much about it...just want to say thanks for sharing these Eric!

Thanks. I really appreciate that. We released the album a year ago, but I had sat on for two years before that I think. I love and am very proud of the album, but I was a little newer to this music then, and we just went in there and knocked it all in a day of recording, mostly improvising, so yeah, more time living with the tunes and this style. Also, with my producer hat on, I since have really come to love a single mic on each instrument when mixing (as with my Artifact record), so even though this is just in my kitchen and quick and dirty onto GarageBand, this kind of recording appeals to me way more than having fours mics, and glass wall between us... We also recorded June Apple to two inch analog tape, which I've since decided is really just a pain in the butt and not worth any perceived "warmth.." But I digress

Great stuff. Once again had to spend time watching your videos and listening to soundclouds. Looking forward to when you tour the east coast. Will have to check your schedule to see if it matches up with a trip to the northwest we are trying to plan for late summer or early fall. Miss the youtube of East Tennessee Blues that was a favorite before it disappeared. Thanks again for posting.

Jeff
